When booking your wedding band it’s always a good idea to try and get your band to setup before your meal.. The advantages of this are, if your meal or speeches run late it will have a knock-on effect on your band getting into the room to setup so the starting time will be later. On the other hand if your band is already setup they can start playing as soon as your speeches are finished….but this isn’t always possible for a number of reasons. (1) It might just happen that your wedding is in Kerry and your Band are travelling from Dublin so by the time your band arrive to setup you might have already been seated for your meal. (2) The other problem we usually find is that the area where your Band will play is the same part of the room the top table is located, so unfortunately the band cant setup until your meal and speeches are finished and the main table is removed… If this is the case Another tip would be to ask the hotel to move the main table before they clear all the other tables in the room, so many times we’ve had to wait for the hotel staff to clear all the other tables before they remove the top table but if the top table is removed first, the band can setup and get playing ASAP… Hope this helps all you newly weds
